CentraState’s Laboratory offices provide routine and STAT (urgent) testing for outpatients, inpatients, and patients using the Emergency Department or the Family Medicine Center. Our laboratories are staffed by board-certified pathologists, certified medical technologists and medical technicians, histotechnicians, phlebotomists, clerks, and transcriptionists. Services are provided for all ages, from infants through seniors.
Our highly-skilled phlebotomists provide you with quick and compassionate service while preventing or limiting any potential discomfort. We offer comprehensive diagnostic testing, performing more than 500 different diagnostic lab tests.

Located on the ground floor of the medical center, the Outpatient Lab is easily accessible from the outpatient parking lot, as well as from the hospital’s Donna O’Donnell Medical Arts Building.
- Monday through Friday: 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Appointments
No appointments are required for most outpatient lab services. Appointments are required for glucose tolerance tests, lactose tolerance tests, and semen analysis.

Pre-registration
Pre-registration can be done when scheduling an appointment online or by calling registration 732-294-2681. If you have not registered online or over the phone, you will need to register in person at the Outpatient Registration Department located next to the Outpatient Lab. Bring your prescription, insurance information, and personal identification, such as a driver’s license.
Insurance and Billing
If you do not have insurance or if services from CentraState’s Lab are not covered by your insurer, you will be billed for your lab work.
Recurring Lab Services
Patients having the same lab service on a repeated basis should report to Outpatient Registration for each visit. Prescriptions are valid for one year.
Patient reports are sent to their physicians. Your physician will discuss your results with you. You may also sign up for our convenient CentraState Patient Portal and access your own medical records online at any time.
