During these uncertain times, when there is a renewed focus on one’s health and wellness, CentraState Healthcare System is offering Weigh of Life, a six-month program dedicated to helping community members make small, gradual changes to their lifestyle to help them lose weight and lead a healthier lifestyle.
Weigh of Life is a proven, behavior-based weight loss program that equips participants with the tools and strategies to get healthy. Participants explore topics such as meal planning, physical activity, and stress management, all with the support of program facilitators who help them stay accountable and motivated. The Weigh of Life sessions provide an interactive, encouraging environment for weight loss.
“Strict dieting isn’t easy or effective for the long run, and that’s where Weigh of Life can help,” said Caryn Alter, MS, RD, FAND, registered dietitian at CentraState. “Small, sustainable changes can help program participants peel off the pounds – and keep them off – allowing them to be the healthiest versions of themselves.”
The in-person Weigh of Life program begins on September 3 from 10-11 a.m. Per CDC guidelines and protocols, the in-person program follows stringent safety protocols, including temperature checks, masks, social distancing arrangements and additional surface disinfection.
A virtual Weigh of Life program with periodic virtual support sessions with facilitators is another option and is available on-demand.
