Stephanie Matthews, a certified nursing assistant at The Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center at CentraState, has recently been honored with the Excellence in Care Award by LeadingAge New Jersey, a statewide association of not-for-profit senior care organizations advancing quality aging services through advocacy, education and fellowship.
LeadingAge New Jersey bestowed Excellence in Care awards to 10 individuals during its annual awards ceremony on Dec. 6, at Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township. The honorees received the award for enhancing the lives of residents living in LeadingAge New Jersey member communities through exceptional care and service and personal commitment and contributions to resident life.
A Manor employee for 20 years, Matthews also volunteers on the culture change committee that advocates and oversees the quality of life and care improvements for Manor residents. “Stephanie has a wealth of knowledge about her residents, natural leadership abilities, a can-do attitude, and an excellent reputation as a caring CNA to her residents, as well as a nurturing mentor to other staff,” says Toni Lynn Davis, MHA, CNHA, administrator of The Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center, who nominated Matthews for this distinction. “This well-deserved recognition is a testament to Stephanie’s deep commitment to our residents and their families. When the Dollar Store is here or when she is out shopping she won’t think twice to spend her own money and pick up something she knows one of her residents needs. She is a true care giver in every sense of the word.”
The Manor, located on the campus of CentraState Medical Center, provides comprehensive short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled-nursing services to help residents achieve their maximum potential for independence, personal comfort and quality of life.
Additionally, for the second year in a row, The Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center at CentraState Medical Center has been named one of the Best Nursing Homes by U.S. News & World Report, a nationally recognized magazine that routinely evaluates and rates health care providers across the country.
