CentraState Medical Center’s stroke coordinator, Ellen Ciacciarelli, APN, RN, was recently honored with the General Adult Acute Care Award by the March of Dimes.
At the March of Dimes gala on Nov. 15, Ellen was among the 160 nominees for one of 12 award categories. She was recognized for successfully improving the stroke monitoring criteria at CentraState Medical Center and educating both staff and members of the community about stroke risks.
Along with participating in the Aramis Stroke Research study, Ellen works with the CentraState hospitalists as a house officer, and collaborates with the medical directors of neurology and neurosurgery to help facilitate patient treatment plans and documentation.
CentraState Healthcare System is a nonprofit community health organization consisting of an acute-care hospital, a health and wellness campus, three senior living communities, a Family Medicine Residency Program, and a charitable foundation.
