Personalized Treatment
Whereas past options were somewhat limited and acted on the entire body, molecular and genetic testing can now be used by an oncologist to pinpoint targeted therapies for cancer treatment, based on an individual’s genetic makeup and cancer type.
For some cancers that develop slowly, or in circumstances where a patient’s age and medical history play a role, the strategy of active surveillance or watchful waiting may be employed. Active surveillance means delaying a course of treatment, while your physician monitors and tracks any changes your cancer may be making.

Depending on a variety of factors, including type and stage of cancer, there are a variety of treatment options available.
