CentraState Medical Center is offering a free lecture, “Understanding Your High Blood Pressure,” on Wednesday, March 16 from 7-8 p.m. at CentraState’s Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus, 901 W. Main Street, Freehold.
Known as the “silent killer,” high blood pressure (HBP) is extremely serious because patients are often symptom-free and feel fine until they reach a hypertensive crisis. In fact, one in four Americans have the condition, and if left untreated HBP can quietly damage your arteries, heart and other vital organs. Un- and under-treated high blood pressure can lead to heart attack, congestive heart failure, stroke, kidney damage, vision loss, erectile dysfunction and more.
If you or someone you know has high blood pressure this FREE program will offer ways to better manage your high blood pressure and instruct you on how to take an active role in your heart health in partnership with your physician or licensed practitioner.
Nephrologist and hypertension specialist James Matera, DO, will share the latest evidence-based practices on managing high blood pressure, offer suggestions on how to incorporate monitoring and medications into your daily life, help de-mystify the condition so you can communicate better with your health care provider, and answer all of your questions about this chronic condition.
Space is limited and registration is required. For more information and to register, call 732-308-0570 or visit centrastate.com/healthprograms.
