The Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center earns DOH recognition
FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP—For the second year in a row, CentraState Healthcare System’s The Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center recently received the New Jersey Department of Health Advisory Standard of Care—a recognition of excellence and one of the top honors the state can bestow on a senior care facility. According to the Department of Health (DOH), licensing standards for New Jersey nursing homes include both mandatory standards, which facilities must meet, and advisory standards, which are standards of excellence that are optional and voluntary. The Manor achieved compliance with advisory standards in the areas of:
- Access to care
- Resident activities
- Administration
- Resident Assessment and Care Plan
- Communication
- Dental services
- Dietary services
- Nurse staffing
- Pharmacy
- Quality assessment and medical records
In addition, as was the case last year, The Manor achieved a deficiency-free score on the survey, which is a rare achievement for a senior care facility. The national average of deficiencies found on the survey is eight, while the average for New Jersey is six.
“The surveyors interviewed half a dozen residents asking them if they would recommend The Manor, and all of them replied with absolutely,” says Jay Solomon, administrator of The Manor. “This recognition is a great testament to the level of service and compassionate care we provide each and every resident.”
The Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center, located on the campus of CentraState Medical Center, provides comprehensive short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled-nursing services for adults age 18 and older and seniors. Its focus is on helping residents achieve their maximum potential for independence, personal comfort and quality of life. The Manor is Medicare/Medicaid certified, licensed by the state of New Jersey, and accredited by The Joint Commission.
