CentraState Medical Center is hosting the Abbott Diabetes Care “Know Your Sugar Sculpture Tour” on Monday, July 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at CentraState’s Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus, 901 W. Main Street, Freehold.
The cross-country tour features world-renowned sculptors Brendan Jamison and Mark Revels who have created a sugar cube sculpture that maps a “Future City” depicting buildings from across the country that animate the world of diabetes through the “Know Your Sugar” tour.
The fun, interactive free tour is an initiative to help raise awareness on how to manage sugar intake for a healthy lifestyle and how sugar negatively affects the body. The goal is to empower people with diabetes to live healthier lives and create a healthier world.
The tour will cover thousands of miles across America’s Midwest and East Coast, educating patients and clinicians about the effects of sugar on the body along the way. Jamison and Revels will be traveling in a large RV, which is their mobile studio, sculpting away and transporting this one-of-a-kind show from city to city.
Participants will also be offered free blood pressure and glucose screenings and information on diabetes management. There will also be an opportunity to take a health risk assessment and a consultation to review results with a health coach.
