CentraState and its partner, Atlantic Health System, recently welcomed Atlantic Medical Group Oncology to the multidisciplinary care team at the Statesir Cancer Center at CentraState. With the addition of this medical oncology practice, formerly known as Advanced Care Oncology and Hematology (ACOHA), patients have a more seamless care experience and expanded access to cancer experts in Monmouth County and beyond.

Medical oncologists joining the Statesir Cancer Center team include ACOHA founder Maithili Rao, MD, Ashish Khot, MD, Rohan Mehta, MD, and nurse practitioner Sara Kovaly.

The expansion bolsters the ability to deliver integrated, comprehensive cancer care on CentraState’s Freehold campus, and through CentraState’s partnership with Atlantic Health System, patients have access to a broader range of oncology services and specialists from across the state.

“This collaboration signifies a deepening commitment to providing state-of-the-art cancer care within our community,” says Dr. Rao. “It’s an opportunity to share our expertise and compassionate approach to ensure that patients in Central New Jersey receive the highest standard of care right where they live.”

“We are dedicated to providing truly integrated, multidisciplinary care in one location,” explains Alexander Itskovich, MD, medical director of the Statesir Cancer Center. “Moreover, patients benefit from access to some of the top subspecialty cancer experts in the state, which can be critical when treating complex cancers.”

Comprehensive cancer care services at the Statesir Cancer Center at CentraState range from medical oncology, radiation oncology and surgery to clinical trials, genetic testing and support services. Additionally, through our partnership with Atlantic Health System, patients have access to even more specialized treatments, such as chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy and proton therapy.
